As a personal challenge to be more aware of all of my blessings in life, I am writing a post about one of those blessings every day for the 30 days prior to Thanksgiving. Some will be serious. Some will be silly. But they will all mean something to me personally. I invite you to join in, in the comments, in your own writing space, or simply in your head. So often we take for granted how much we have to be thankful for. It’s good to stop, reflect, and remember.


Today I am thankful for my new favorite snack–mini brie bites with sourdough toast.

I recently had the opportunity to visit the Trader Joe’s in Tulsa. I was fortunate to be able to walk up and down every aisle, looking at as much as I could take in. Definite sensory overload!

One thing I knew to keep my eye on was the mini brie bites. I’d never had brie before, but I love cheese, so I decided to give it a shot.

I am so glad I did! But I wish I had bought about ten more packages of them so that I wouldn’t run out.

It’s great as a stand-alone snack or as part of what I call a “small plate” dinner–bread and cheese, salami, roast beef with horseradish, maybe some fruit, maybe some black olives.

It’s simple, but it feels elevated. (I’ve clearly seen enough Master Chef)
